Today I want to post about Butterick 5919. It is a 50's era - to me - dress, with front and back bodice gathers and a fun peek-a-boo back. There was supposed to be a bow in the back, but I only had 2 yds of fabric and I didn't find it necessary to have a huge bow at my bum.
While this dress was fairly simple to sew, I must have been incredibly distracted, because after reading the instructions about 10 times, I STILL managed to sew parts of the lining wrong -_-. I realized my errors and sewed the fabric correctly. Even after all that, the dress was surprisingly not as complicated as it looked.
It is sewn in a pink cotton narwhal print fabric that I think is just adorable! The dress is fully lined in a white cotton fabric.
